Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 pieces store-bought donut holes Soft, fluffy, and ready to absorb flavors.
  • 1 cup Nutella or chocolate frosting For coating the donut holes.
  • 1 cup fall sprinkles Colorful and festive for decoration.
  • 12 pieces stick pretzels Broken in halves for the acorn 'stem'.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by dumping the fall sprinkles into a small bowl, mixing two types of sprinkles together for added texture and color if desired.
  2. Lay down wax paper on your countertop or baking sheet for a clean surface.
  3. In a deep, small bowl, microwave the Nutella or chocolate frosting for about 15-20 seconds until melted but not too runny.
Coating and Decorating
  1. Dip each donut hole halfway into the melted Nutella or frosting, allowing excess to drip off.
  2. Roll the coated half in the bowl of fall sprinkles immediately after dipping.
  3. Gently place a broken half of the stick pretzel into the top of each donut hole to form the 'stem'.
Cooling
  1. Let the acorn donut holes cool on the wax paper until set.

Notes

For a smoother coating, ensure your Nutella or frosting is perfectly melted. Experiment with different sprinkles, or drizzle melted white chocolate over the sprinkles for a beautiful effect. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze before decorating.
