Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup melted regular or vegan butter Adds moisture to the donuts.
  • 1 1/4 cup regular milk, oat milk, or almond milk Choose your preferred milk for a creamy base.
  • 1 cup sugar Balances out the tangy blueberries.
  • 1 tbsp regular milk, oat milk, or almond milk For glazing.
  • 2 tsp vanilla Enhances the flavor of the donuts and glaze.
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder Leavening agent for a light and airy crumb.
  • 1 tsp baking soda Works with baking powder for ideal rise.
  • 2 cups regular or gluten-free all-purpose flour Forms the body of the donuts.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For glazing the donuts.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries Provides a burst of flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, milk, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and combined.
  3. Gently mix in the flour, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay!
  4. Carefully fold in the blueberries to maintain their shape.
  5. Grease donut molds lightly, then fill each mold with batter using a piping bag or spoon.
Baking
  1. Place the molds in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Glazing
  1. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth, then drizzle over cooled donuts for extra sweetness.

Notes

Avoid overmixing for fluffy donuts. Fresh blueberries keep their shape better and don’t turn the batter blue when added frozen.
