Method
Preparation
- Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. Finely chop the garlic. Grate the Gouda (or Emmental) and Parmesan, then mix both cheeses together in a bowl.
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and butter a baking dish.
Cooking
- In a pan or wide pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic, sauté until translucent and fragrant.
- Add the ground meat to the pan, breaking it apart. Cook until the meat starts to brown.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a minute. Pour in the canned tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Add the Crème fraîche, followed by salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
Assembling
- In the greased baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer lasagna sheets on top, followed by more meat sauce. Repeat this process two more times.
- Finish with a final layer of meat sauce and sprinkle the combined cheeses on top. Dot with butter flakes.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, placing the dish in the lower third until the cheese is golden and bubbly. If browning too quickly, cover with parchment paper.
Serving
- Enjoy your meal with a satisfied smile!
