Preparation
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and yeast until combined.
- Gradually add in the warm water, mixing with a wooden spoon or your hands until the mixture is sticky but not lumpy.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a towel, placing it in a warm area to rise for 24 hours.
Baking
- Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface and gently shape it into a ball.
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
- Lightly oil a 10×15 sheet pan.
- With oiled hands, stretch the dough across the pan, ensuring it extends just past the edges, creating an even layer.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough base.
- Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese, followed by the slices of finocchiona salami, and finish with the Parmesan cheese.
- In a separate small bowl, combine the ricotta and heavy cream, mixing well before setting aside.
- Place your pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
- Rotate the pizza and continue baking for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the crust has turned golden brown and the cheese is beautifully melted.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle the ricotta mixture and Mike's Hot Honey generously over the top.
- Slice and serve immediately for the best experience.
Notes
Dough Consistency: If the dough is too sticky, lightly flour your hands during the shaping process. Let It Rise: Longer rise time allows for a fluffier crust. Experiment with Toppings: Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or cured meats.
